Richesses des Terroirs: En Pay Cathare - Le languedoc et sa langue d'oc

This is the second of a series of explorations of French “terroir” – a conception of land as an organism whose characteristics and products are intimately linked to the nature of its soil and the crafts of its people. A “terroir” appeals to your senses. It is a harmony of tastes, colors, sounds and feelings that are unique, exclusive and singular.
This second series will focus on "Le pays cathare: Le languedoc et sa langue d'oc" which will be explored  by 3 different means.
     Friday, April 30, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm: Opening presentation including a short movie on the region. Presentation by Roseline Cousin in English.
     May 4 - June 1 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm: 5 week course on the lore and poetry, aspects of daily life and the present concerns of the region. Some reading is expected for each meeting in order to allow sharing of ideas and discussions. These meetings will be in French for intermediate-advanced levels, and will be led by Roseline Cousin.
     Friday, May 21, 2010 at 6:00 pm: a special evening of wine tasting and products of the region, in English.

$170 for Alliance Française members, $200 for non-members
